Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill two (2) positions of Works Overseer (not vacant) in the Trelawny Municipal Corporation with salary range $745,228 – $885,842 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.
JOB PURPOSE: Under the general direction of the Superintendent, Roads and Works, the Works Overseer has responsibility to allocate and supervise work on the Corporation's road, cemeteries, beaches, sanitary conveniences, wayside tanks, markets and other buildings.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
At least four Ordinary Level Passes or equivalent including Mathematics or Principles of Accounts, English Language and Science/Technical subject.
Certificate in Building Construction or related qualification.
Minimum of one (1) year experience working experience in a related field and/or on the job training.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to prioritize, analyze and complete work with little supervision, within agreed timeline.
Ability to consistently demonstrate integrity in the execution of duties.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
Ability to work flexible hours in addition to normal business hour
Must have professional attitude and appearance
Some travel required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervising the reconstruction/repairs of roads, drains, retaining walls buildings etc.
Responsible for the preparation of all minor contracts, schedule of rate and task work, records and payment voucher for work allocated.
To supervise plumber, caretakers of cemeteries and the distribution of water to wayside tanks in drought stricken areas.
Repair estimates for roads and water supply projects and repair to construction of building etc.
Responsible for investigating complaint regarding condition of roads, drains, building, water supplies and to submit a report to the head of department.
Attend Committee Meetings of the Corporation also to represent the Superintendent, Roads and Works as the needs arise at meetings of neighbourhood watch and other community related organizations.
To assist in the monitoring of development activities.
Any other duties assigned in the interest of the Corporation.
