Barbers, Hairdressers, Nail Technician
Cosmetologists, Beauty Therapists Licence - To maintain health and safety standards , all barbers hairdressers, Nail Technicians, Cosmetologists, Beauty Therapists require a license issued by the corporation.
An individual working for another will need:-
•2 certified passport size photographs
•Proof of qualification
•TRN
•Valid ID (passport, drivers license, National Identification)
•Health Card
•Applicable Fees
The operator of the Barbershop or Beauty Salon will need:-
•3 certified passport size photographs
•Proof of qualification
•TRN
•Valid ID (passport, drivers license, National Identification)
•Health Card
•Applicable Fees
Procedure:
Documents required: 2 passport-sized photographs, signed by a J.P. (up to six months before application).
Fee is paid at Cashier, in the Municipal Building.
Application (for Barbershop and Beauty Salon licences) is passed to Health Department for investigation and report; applicant will be contacted for inspection purposes.
When the corporation receives Health Department comments, the application is brought to the Public Health Committee meeting (2nd Wednesdays monthly) to be approved and a permit is prepared.
Upon submission of all required documents, the applicant is informed when to pick up license.
